With 35 people on site at Cromwell Road on Fridays we need more space to shelter. We have obtained planning permission from Hertford Town Council to extend the hut to the footprint of its base and overhanging roof at the rear.
Work started in January 2016 with the removal of existing rotten timber.
The Architect Andrew Goodman has again kindly donated his professional services to design this extension. All we need now are the funds to complete the work in 2016.
A summary of the costs, including VAT, follows. If you are able to donate to this project we would be very grateful.
Materials for the rear walkway – £1,440
Materials for the cabin extension – £840
Side and front ramps, for wheelchair access – £900
Rear shutters £600
Rear and side windows £120
Waterproofing, paint and cleaning materials – £300
Tools – £300
Specialist carpentry help – £240
Cost of build – £880
A total of approximately – £6,700
Wire Mesh and Posts
In order to protect our crops from the local rabbits.
Hand tools of all types are required by Mudlarks. We ask for light weight tools in good condition. Tools that enable disabled people to cultivate crops are especially welcome.
Wood is needed to build the many raised beds we wish to construct. It is also needed for compost bins, cold frames, fence posts, gates and cold frames.
Leftover Seed Packets
Vegetable seeds, even if only a few left would be a really useful contribution.
